📋 How to Request Account Deletion
You can request to delete your TripMate account using either of the following methods:
Option 1: In-App Deletion
Follow these steps within the TripMate app:
- Open the TripMate app
- Navigate to Settings
- Go to Privacy Settings
- Select Request Account Deletion
- Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm
Option 2: Email Request
Send an email to our support team:
- Email Address: auralogic.support@aura-logic.com
- Subject Line: Account Deletion Request
- Required Information: Include the email address associated with your TripMate account
🗑️ What Gets Deleted
When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently removed from our systems:
- User Profile: Name, email address, avatar/profile photo, bio, and all profile information
- Trip Data: All trips created by you (unless you're a member of trips owned by others)
- Financial Records: All expenses and payment records associated with your account
- Communications: All chat messages and in-app communications
- Packing Lists: All personal packing lists and travel checklists
- Notifications: All notification history and preferences
- Subscription Data: Premium subscription information and billing history
- AI Usage History: All AI chat interactions and query history
📦 What May Be Retained
In certain circumstances, some data may be retained for legitimate business or legal purposes:
Anonymized Trip Data
If you are a member of trips owned by other users, anonymized trip data may remain visible to those trip owners. Your personal information will be removed, but trip activities and expenses you participated in may be retained in an anonymized form.
Legal & Compliance Records
We may retain certain information if required by law, including:
- Financial records for accounting and tax compliance (typically 7 years)
- Records related to legal disputes or investigations
- Data required by regulatory authorities
Backup Data
Deleted data may remain in our backup systems for a specified retention period before permanent deletion. See the retention period section below for details.
⏱️ Retention Period
Processing Time: Account deletion requests are processed within 7–14 business days of receipt.
Backup Retention: Data may remain in our backup systems for up to 90 days before permanent deletion.
During the backup retention period, your account will be deactivated and inaccessible, but some data may still exist in our secure backup systems. After 90 days, all data will be permanently removed from all systems, including backups.

Permanent Action
This action cannot be undone. Once your account is deleted, you will not be able to recover any of your data, trips, or account information.
Confirmation Email
You will receive a confirmation email once your account deletion is complete. This email will be sent to the address associated with your account.
Trip Ownership
If you're a trip owner: Consider transferring ownership to another member before deleting your account. If you delete your account without transferring ownership, trips you created may be affected or removed.
Before You Delete
Before proceeding with account deletion, please consider:
- Exporting any trip data or information you want to keep
- Transferring ownership of trips you've created to other members
- Notifying trip members if you're leaving shared trips
- Resolving any pending expenses or payments
- Canceling any active premium subscriptions
